Petrol sold on the Norwegian market must meet the requirements of the Product Regulations and the Norwegian-European product standard for petrol (NS-EN 228). All petrol cars in Europe can run on petrol that meets the product standard NS-EN 228. This product standard allows for blending up to five percent bioethanol. Therefore, this product is called E5.
