Diesel
Diesel is a mixture of different hydrocarbons made from crude oil. Diesel is a middle distillate that has a yellow color and a characteristic odor. The product is insoluble in water and flammable. It is therefore important that the storage and use of diesel comply with the authorities' requirements and regulations. In a diesel engine, air is compressed in the cylinder and diesel is injected through a nozzle. Diesel self-ignites due to the hot air in the cylinder. The diesel engine has a higher compression ratio than the petrol engine, which provides better efficiency and lower fuel consumption. The power from the movement of the pistons creates propulsion for the car.
Double-counting biofuels In the fulfillment of the mandatory sales volume requirement, the volume of advanced biofuels counts double. This means that one liter of advanced biofuel counts as two liters when the volume is used to meet the sales requirement. Conventional biofuel is not a double-counting biofuel. What constitutes double-counting biofuel is determined by the raw material from which the biofuel is made. In the Product Regulations, there is a list of raw materials that can be used for the production of advanced biofuels, and thus double-counting biofuels.
