Bioethanol
Bioethanol is produced from plants containing sugar and starch, such as corn, sugarcane, grain, and potatoes. It can be used as a renewable fuel in gasoline. In Norway, gasoline contains up to 5 percent bioethanol (E5). About 10 percent of the biofuel used in Norway today is bioethanol. Bioethanol can be either conventional or advanced biofuel. This is determined by the raw material from which it is produced.
