Biodegradable gear oil Mobil SHC Aware™ Series consists of a range of high-performance, anti-wear gear oils for use in marine machinery and meets the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) 2013 "Vessel General Permit (VGP)" guidelines for "environmentally acceptable lubricants". They provide excellent wear protection for gears and bearings, protecting equipment from rust and corrosion. They also have outstanding oxidation properties, which help to extend the oil's lifetime, can be used in a wide operating temperature range and ensure easy start-up at low temperatures. The Mobil SHC Aware Series has excellent air release properties compared to typical mineral gear oils, resulting in less air entrainment and protection against cavitation. In addition, their excellent seal compatibility helps to reduce leakage.
