The calcium sulfonate thickener has both rust protection and extreme pressure (EP) properties. This thickener excels in wet environments, providing rust protection with long relubrication intervals. Mobil Centaur XHP 462 grease is particularly well-suited to meet the demanding lubrication requirements of steel mills and paper machine equipment. It provides a balanced combination of water washout and water spray resistance, as well as excellent corrosion protection. The calcium sulfonate thickeners used are also capable of maintaining consistency and EP protection properties even with high levels of water contamination.
