CO₂ tax for the fishing fleet
There is now a political majority in the Storting for a general exemption from the CO₂ tax. The Government is thus tasked with designing and implementing the scheme.
How the final solution will look remains to be seen for now.
As part of the financing, it is planned that the current refund scheme for the fishing fleet will cease. It is not yet clarified whether this will also lead to other changes or cuts.
We assume there will still be a need for a refund solution through the Guarantee Fund for vessels purchasing fuel from suppliers where the CO₂ tax is included in the price.
