Bunker Oil AS Oil has signed a new four-year framework agreement with Forsvarsmateriell - Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency for the delivery of fuel to vessels belonging to, among others, the Navy, the Coastal Ranger Commando, the Coast Guard, the Governor of Svalbard, the Norwegian Coastal Administration, the Institute of Marine Research, and the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment.

The new agreement enters into force on July 1, 2026, upon the expiration of the current agreement on June 30, 2026. The agreement covers the delivery of fuel from Bunker Oil's facilities, tankers, and tank trucks along the entire Norwegian coast – from Kirkenes in the north to Egersund in the south.

Bunker Oil's strong presence along the coast has been a decisive factor. The authorities have signaled increased activity and presence from the Navy and the Coast Guard in the waters off Troms and Finnmark. With large facilities in Kirkenes, Båtsfjord, Honningsvåg, Hammerfest, and Tromsø, in addition to several smaller facilities, Bunker Oil is well-positioned for increased activity in the northern regions. The facilities in Tromsø, due to their proximity to Olavsvern, will be of particularly key importance during the agreement period.

Deliveries will vary in size – from a few thousand liters to the Coastal Ranger Commando's smaller vessels, to several hundred cubic meters to the Royal Norwegian Navy's remaining fleet.
The financial framework of the contract is estimated at NOK 1.2–1.5 billion, and the agreement will be of great importance for activity at Bunker Oil's facilities along the entire coast.
Renewal of the Royal Norwegian Navy's fleet is also underway, and Bunker Oil looks forward to delivering fuel to the new vessels as well.

– The Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency imposes many and extremely strict requirements on its suppliers. Our employees and partners have really stepped up and delivered at all hours of the day, year-round. Through this, we have demonstrated that Bunker Oil is a reliable supplier, says Tore Slinning, contract manager at Bunker Oil.
He emphasizes that the agreement is important for the company.
– We look forward to four new years as a fuel supplier to the Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency. The agreement is of great importance to Bunker Oil, alongside the fishing fleet, which remains by far our largest and most important customer group, says Slinning.
